We Have Won The Land - Allan MacRae of Torbreck / The Assynt Crofters’ Reel

The director of the Assynt Crofters’ Trust at the time, Allan MacRae was at the heart of the project from beginning to end. His dedication and passion throughout the campaign was considered by many to be vital to its success.

The Assynt Crofters’ Trust is in possession of the estate to this day, and run by an elected Board of Directors voted in by each township. Projects undertaken by the Trust include a hydro scheme, tree planting, part-time employment and student bursaries to name a few.

In 2023 the trust will celebrate its 30th anniversary.
